Default Gears of War: Judgment developer farewells three key staffers

Gears of War: Judgment creative director Adrian Chmielarz and two fellow People Can Fly members have left Epic Games.

The news was confirmed by Epic president Mike Capps, in a statement provided to GameInformer among others:

“Adrian Chmielarz, Andrzej Poznanski and Michal Kosieradzki have parted ways with People Can Fly and Epic Games in order to pursue other opportunities, which they will announce of their own accord,” he said.

“Over the past decade, they have been instrumental in building People Can Fly into the talented team that it is today. We wish them well in their future endeavours. People Can Fly remains excited to release Gears of War: Judgment to fans early next year.”

Chmielarz took to Twitter to reassure fans that the shooter isn’t on the rocks.

“Gears fans, you’re going to love Judgment. It’s in great hands. And don’t worry, you’ll hear about my plans soon enough,” he said.

There’s a great deal of movement in the industry at the moment; Epic farewelled its veteran executive producer Rod Fergusson last week, as he moves into a new role at Irrational Games; meanwhile, two senior staffers left Irrational. Musical chairs.

Warsaw-based developer People Can Fly was founded in 2002 and acquired by Epic in 2007. It was responsible for the Painkiller series and Bulletstorm before moving onto Gears of War: Judgment, which is expected on Xbox 360 in March 2013.
